Morrisons Stir Fry Egg Noodles review

Every supermarket has their own brand of egg noodles and this time I tried Morrisons.

The noodles had a lovely soft texture and cooked nicely.

Morrisons Savoy Cabbage review

Savoy cabbage is a cabbage that is distinct for its wrinkly leaves making it ideal for stews because it hangs the sauce.

The savoy cabbage was made into Sichuan style sour cabbage fish soup where you have cabbage, pickled cabbage and fish.

Overall, it was delicious.

[Review] Morrisons The Best Steak & Ale Pasties

Morrisons The Best pasty series were a bit disappointing.

Tried the Steak and ale pasty as well as the Cheese and onion pasty.

Both had too much chunky potato pieces in them and the pastry was hard and thick.

Morrisons Green olives with garlic & thyme

Another option for delicious green olives are these garlic and thyme flavoured ones from Morrisons which comes in a resealable sachet.

Overall, they were addictive and appetizing.

Morrisons Halkidiki olives stuffed with red peppers

 Green olives are always delicious.

These Halkidiki olives are nice and big with a punchy taste stuff with sweet peppers.

Overall, an addictive snack.

Morrisons Katsu Noodles

The Morrisons Katsu Noodles were not particular visually appetizing but they basically taste like coleslaw mixed with noodles with a non fiery curry kick just like coronation chicken without the sweetness.

Best eaten with salads because it is evidently a noodle salad.

They were not bad, but I am not a coleslaw fan hence I won't be buying this again.

Morrisons Five Counties cheese

According to cheesewiki.com, Five Counties is a combination of five English cheeses: Cheddar, Cheshire, Derby, Double Gloucester and Red Leicester. The five types of cheese are combined in alternating layers alternated in layers of yellow/orange and white.

I don't know if my cheese had gone off but it was bitter.

[Review] Morrisons Kippers

 According to The Guardian newspaper.

"Kippers were the quintessential British breakfast food — also enjoyed for high tea and supper — of the Victorian and Edwardian eras. They sold well until the 1970s when they fell out of favour with the advent of fast food which had greater appeal for younger diners."

Kippers are smoked herrings.

Interestingly North Americans have it for Breakfast as well.

I came across kipper on the menu once but regrettably didn't go in and have it because not many places serve it.

Due to lockdown, it was even harder to try kipper but luckily Morrisons had kippers so I got some for breakfast.

Ideally, there should be some egg there was I decided to just have it with toast.

The kipper was really nice because any smoked fish tastes good but the bones were difficult.

[Review] Morrisons Pork and Cranberry Crackers (Sausage roll)

Spotted the Pork and Cranberry Crackers which are evidently sausage rolls but shaped as a Christmas cracker.
As a foodie, I had to review them but I didn't have any expectations because the Wensleydale and Cranberry roll from Morrisons I tried earlier was too sweet.
To my surprise the Pork and Cranberry Crackers was quite nice. I was expecting it to be filled in the middle and not the edges but the edges were filled.
The taste of the filling was good because you could taste a good balance of sausage to cranberry which was tart and not sweet like the previous roll I tried.

[Review] Morrisons 2 Egg Custard Tarts

A while ago tried Morrisons Egg Custard Tarts hot and they were quite nice.
I just felt that the nutmeg was not prominent enough.
Eating them straight from the box was better than reheated because I am not fond of crumbly pastry which was quite thick and you can't taste the nutmeg when it is hot.

Morrisons Christmas Star Donuts review

I made a special trip to Morrisons because of the Christmas Star Donut as it was star shaped.
When I saw it, I was a bit disappointed because it was put in the wrong box as it was squished into a muffin box.
Photos posted by others showed that it was laying flat in a different box which is the one they use for cinnamon swirls and Chelsea buns.
As I came all the way for it, I just had to get it.
The star shape could have been better, as for the taste the cherry strawberry jam was quite nice and the doughnut was soft and fluffy.
Overall, it was nice but I wish it was prettier!
