Coop Slow cooked lamb shoulder with mint gravy review

Tried the Coop Slow cooked lamb shoulder with mint gravy a while ago which made a nice dinner.

It cooked nicely and the lamb was tender and delicious in the gravy but the mint was not strong enough.

Coop Irresistible Apple pie

I didn't really have any expectations for this apple pie as it is from Coop.

Surprisingly it was a delicious apple pie but the pastry was a bit under cooked in the middle to the extent you could smear it with a knife.

Other than that, after taking a slice, the rest can be fixed in the oven.

Coop Irresistible Baking Camembert review

Every supermarket has baking Camembert but you get a nice black ramekin with @coopuk
So now I have a black to go with the Burgundy one from M&S.
As for the taste, it was the usual creamy camembert that you get and it tasted really good melted in my sandwich.

Coop GRO Plant based eating THE Sausage roll review

A few days ago I chose the vegan steak bake by Gro which has soya pieces in shroom gravy.
It was a no brainer because the steak bake had gravy.
Just for the curious sake, I tried the gro sausage roll a few days later so that I could compared it with other vegan sausage rolls.
The pastry was a bit too firm and hard while the sausage filling was a bit dry but the herbs were so strong that I did not like it as much as the gro steak bake.

Coop GRO Plant based eating THE VEGAN STEAK BAKE review

The vegan steak bake by Gro has soya pieces in shroom gravy.

It was actually spot on in terms of texture and taste but they over did it with the thyme.

As well as the steak bake, they also have a vegan sausage roll in the range.

Coop Irresistible Purple velvet cake review

While I was at Coop, I spotted the purple velvet cake which is a soft purple velvet sponge filled with tangy blackcurrant jam, topped with sweet cream cheese frosting ad swirls of blackcurrant jam.
Coop are certainly creative with their cakes because a while ago they had this chocolate and clementine cake.
This cake was tempting for photos because I don't have this shade of purple in my cake collection.
Other coloured cakes I had in the past were pink, blue, rainbow, green, lilac and black.
I'd like to see more velvet cakes like green velvet cake in either pandan or matcha.

Ended up getting this cake a few days later and tried it a soon as I got home.
After I took it out, I was in dismay that it was brown and not purple but relieved that it was purple inside.
As for the taste, I was won over by this one because the blackcurrant sauce really stole the show.
I loved how tart it was and there were blackcurrants in the sauce as well giving it more depth.
Overall, I was really glad I got this cake which is much nicer than their salted caramel I got a while ago.

Sainsbury's On the Go Beetroot & Turmeric Wrap, Limited Edition

The Sainsbury's On the Go Beetroot & Turmeric Wrap has two wraps which makes it worth trying.

Tumeric Wrap: Turmeric and coconut milk dressing, beetroot and red pepper falafel, roasted seasoned white cabbage and onion with turmeric, spinach, carrot, red pepper and coriander in a turmeric wrap.

Beetroot Wrap: Turmeric and coconut milk dressing, roasted seasoned cabbage and onion, carrot and tumeric falafel, spinach, carrot, red pepper and coriander in a plain wheat tortilla with beetroot.

Overall, I found the flavours of both really strong especially the cumin so it tasted really similar to the Coop irresistible Halloumi & Roast Beetroot Flatbread.
It wasn't bad but the slaw was a bit sweet for my liking.
