Sainsburys chocolate cherry crown

It's cherry showtime this part of the year!
Sainsburys now have this chocolate cherry crown delicious which is a must try but sadly only some stores have it.
Basically it has chocolate folded into the four crown corners with cherry filling in the middle.
The cherry filling is a bit like compote with a light consistency but overall a must try because what can go wrong with chocolate and cherry.

After Eight cherry & Mint

I love cherry anything so didn't hesitate to buy them from Iceland.
Looking at the box, it looks like UK isn't the primary market as German comes first and there is some other language at the front of the box.
Nevertheless, I really enjoyed the taste because you get that usual after eight taste but the fondant isn't as sweet as the original and it's like the cherry and mint individually have been toned down, but you can still taste it.

After Eight Strawberry & Mint

These were launched ages ago along with orange mint and gin tonic but I didn't try them back then.
Anyway finally tried them and loved them.
The pairing of strawberry and mint is odd but it worked.
When you open the box you get that lovely chocolate strawberry smell that you get from quality street strawberry creams.
The taste is similar to that with subtle mint flavours so sometimes its like eating a chocolate strawberry
creme and sometimes like a regular after eight.

After Eight gin tonic & Mint review

Finally tried these After Eight gin tonic & Mint.
The dark chocolate was good and tasted better from the fridge as I followed the tip saying best served cold.
The fondant filling was mintier than the strawberry after eight but somehow lacked any taste of gin.
Overall nice but the fondant was too sweet.

Haiyu original stone baked biscuit 海玉石頭餅

I was given these biscuits which are called stone biscuits in Chinese, it turns out they are baked in between small polished pebbles.
First they are laid on some pebbles and then pebbles are put on top to cover them which gives it those patterns.
The biscuits I got had uniform patterns as they are mass manufactured and not made with natrual stones.
As for the taste, they just tasted like salted crackers so I would rather called them stone baked crackers and not biscuits.
Overall, they were ok but I wouldn't specifically go out to buy them again.

Jason's sourdough no 14 olive & basil

To be honest, I have not heard of Jason's sourdough until it was available at the supermarket.
The only time I have it is at the restaurants or cafes.
I was drawn to this pretty green marbled bread at Tescos which turned out to be Jason's sourdough no 14 olive & basil.
It had nice green swirl patterns as well as being tasty with bits of olives and basil in it.
The sourdough was soft and pillowly with a chew.
Tasting it on its own you could tastes olives but not so much of the basil.
Pairing it with olive pate and liquid dill was really good.

Sainsbury's apple & blackcurrant tart - taste the difference autumn edition

Again, probably the same manufacturer as I have seen this huge Danish crown/tart at Tesco and M&S.
At Sainsburys, the danish tart is filled with apple and blackberries and the Tesco version was toffee apple.
Overall, it was quite nice and there are a good deal of apple slices and whole blackberries.
The blackberries were quite tart, so were the apples which goes well with sweetened custard.
