Tasty Tinies DIY edible cakes

Bake a cake in 25 seconds!
To be honest it is just a microwave cake but still fun.
You get the fun just like cup cake mixtures but slap it in the microwave and the decorate with frosting.
The only problem was the cake which is too soft so it is difficult to ice and it is hard to make layered cakes with filling.
The piping nozzle is too big in ratio as well as the spatula which scratches the mixing bowl.
Anyway, some steps can be skipped, you can just pour water into the cake mixture sachet and mix from there.
The paper oven was cute but not quite sure if it was functional as it was cumbersome putting it in and taking it out as the mold is bigger than the oven door.
Made my own piping bag because the piping nozzle you get with the kit is way too big in proportion to the tiny cake.

Lidl vitasia hoisin sauce and spring onion cheddar and onion bhaji style cheddar by Joseph Heler Cheeses

August 2024, it's Asia week again and there were some interesting finds like Lidl vitasia hoisin sauce and spring onion cheddar and onion bhaji style cheddar by Joseph Heler Cheeses.
First there was wasabi cheese and now there is hoisin sauce cheese!
The colour looks a bit pale for hoisin sauce because you would expect it to to be more of a wine/burgandy colour.
Tbh, I think black bean sauce and cheese would taste better which I'll probably experiment at some point.
The peanut satay sauce is bargain at 1.79 compared to tiny tubs at Chinese which cost more!!
Also bought the yum yum vegetable and shrimp noodles to complete the collection after I was sent some to try.

Lidl vitasia hoisin sauce and spring onion cheddar.
Surprisingly nice, no annoying sweetness from hoisin but you do get the aniseed and clove spices with lots of spring onion.
Also quite salty which I am guessing it comes from the yellow bean sauce.
If you like cheddar and spring onion, it is similar but with some additional aniseed spices.

Lidl vitasia onion bhaji style cheddar.
Another tasty cheese which was very flavourful with crispy onions and cumin with a spicy aftertaste but very salty.

Lidl Satay Sauce
It does taste peanutty and sweet but a little different from Chinese satay sauce as you can't taste any coconut or lemongrass however it is this sour aftertaste.

Lidl vitasia jackfruit buns in spicy tomato sauce.
Unfortunately it was Asian style so it was sweet tomato sauce so I didn't like it.
Instructions says do not microwave but I did for one minute and they were soft and fluffy.

Kracie Hamburger Popin' Cookin' Kit Diy Candy

Kracie Hamburger Popin' Cookin' Kit Diy Candy
Kracie is famous for these Japanese DIY edible treats.
There are so many kits to choose from like the hamburger meal to sushi.
The hamburger meal seems to be the most popular as it includes a drink as part of the fast food meal.
I never got round to making it because the Japanese instructions put me off.
Despite it being so popular, they have not changed the contents because the drinks and fries packaging is rather tacky as you just cut it from the printed plastic sachet.
It would be nice if the fries/drink was pre printed paper or cut out card with perforations.
Although we didn't succeed making the burgers, it was definitely worth mixing the mixtures especially the ketchup and coke.
I find it so fascinating how they have formulated ketchup and coke into a powder mixture so that you can just add water and it will instantly turn into it.
The coke was the best because it really fizzes and tastes like coke.
The best thing is that it is not candy and they actually taste savoury while the burger bun mixture actually tastes like dough!!
The rest taste like mashed potatoes.
Overall, a really good experience.

MADE FOR DRINK English Heritage The Gentleman's Relish Potato Crisps

Spotted these MADE FOR DRINK English Heritage The Gentleman's Relish Potato Crisps at the Stonehenge gift shop so had to get them.
I would say these crisps taste like beef flavoured crisps with a stronger saltiness and overall flavour but lack the fishy element which is probably a relief for some.
Definitely worth trying as Gentleman's relish is lesser known these days. .
Gentleman's Relish (Patum Peperium) is an anchovy paste which you use sparingly on toast with salty notes!
The colour and smell is like crab tomalley with a salty and fishy kick which you either hate it or love like marmite.
