[Fruit] Green figs

These green figs were not really ripe so the texture was crunchy and rubbery with a strange coconutty taste.
They were not sweet but that was expected.

Plantastic satay noodles

Quite tasty with a sweet kick.

Doughlicious chocolate chip bites

Very tasty and so different to mochi.
The pastry on the outside is firm with a chew with a maize/wheaty bite to it.
The vegan filling is just like regular ice cream and tastes like milk bottle/white rabbit sweets.
Samples given at Liverpool/lbg station.

Bonito carp caviar salad with onions (Salata cu icre Crap si ceapa)

If you ever go into a Romanian shop you will CRAP in the chilled section which is fish roe.
I tried the Bonito carp caviar salad with onions which is the Romanian version of taramasalata.
On its own, it is creamy and heavy with an onion taste and some fishyness.
It was nice on toast with some extra sliced pickled onions to cut through the heaviness.

M&S 70% dark chocolate coated sour cherries and pistachios

Seriously delicious dark chocolate covered sour cherries.
Proper quality dark chocolate and the cherries in the middle were really sour like the dried ones from middle eastern shops.
Definitely moreish as they are so tasty and not sweet.
They had similar vibes to forest feast snacks.
I'm just lost why people don't love cherries anymore, not the case for the Germans or Polish.
Also tried the milk chocolate covered pistachios.
Good chocolate and quality pistachios.
Some pistachios were not green so I had to eat a few before I got to a green one for the photo.
If it was dark chocolate, I could easily eat more without feeling guilty but overall decadent.
Will be trying the blonde pecans soon.
Also available in the range: chocolate covered pistachios, mango and almonds.

Souphead Yunan Congee soup

Well Veetee, famous rice suppliers have launched an amazing ready meal products like ramen, soups to pasta.
The range is inspired by Thai, Japanese, Korean, Chinese etc.
It is a new addition to noodle head which were stir fried noodles in a pouch.
Previously tried the mac and cheese which was delicious but I was trying to get my hands on the chinese inspired congee soup which wasnt at any of the big tescos i visited.
Anyway finally got hold of it Thanks to my brother.
I have been looking for this product since 9th July when my brother messaged me about this and now its exactly a month later! "
Congee is like savoury rice pudding without dairy and has a thinner consistency just like Spanish Arroz Caldos.
The product is labelled as Yunan congee soup, a hearty rice porridge with vegetable broth, garlic and sesame.
The taste of this was comforting, despite being vegetable broth based, it still had that chicken umami.
The thing that really packed a punch was the ginger and garlic.
There was so much ginger pieces it, the garlic tasted like rehydrated dried garlic with bitterness.
Overall, I felt that it tasted like Korean herbal chicken and ginseng congee with that umami and bitterness.
I'm sure if a Korean tasted this, they would agree.
I also googled yunan/Yunnan congee and nothing came up except this product so I'm not quite convinced it has anything inspired by Yunnan.
Anyway, worth trying if you can find it at tescos.

Waitrose N1 pistachio panna cotta

I'm not the biggest fan of panna cotta due to bad experiences because it wasn't fresh but recently got my confidence back from a miso caramel panna cotta hence when I discovered pistachio panna cotta had to try it.
It was definitely nice as expected, the panna cotta was thick, creamy with lots of vanilla seeds without being too sweet.
The pistachio sauce on top was also rich and nutty with a savoury note.
Overall, it was really tasty but I felt the ratio of sauce and panna cotta could be better or the shape of the container could have a bigger radius with less height so that it works out better when you spoon it.
The current container is really tall hence most of the sauce is finished and you are left with panna cotta after a few spoon if you use a tea spoon but a table spoon would be too excessive.
