PROPER CHIPS (Lentil snacks)

Lentils are proving to be a successful ingredient in the snack industry.
Almost every snack company is making lentil snacks.
PROPER CHIPS are one of them with a good variety of flavours.
I tried the Salt & Vinegar, Sour Cream and Chives, Sea Salt and Sweet Sriracha chilli.
All the flavours were pleasing and moreish but I had to say the Sour Cream and Chives were outstanding as they were creamy and well flavoured.
Salt & Vinegar tastes amazing and Sea Salt strangely tastes like Chinese Prawn crackers.
Sweet Sriracha chilli was not as bad as anticipated but not my cup of tea.

Coop Masala & chilli hot cross buns

As a foodie, I love trying non conventional flavours when I see them.
Hot Cross Buns have been getting more and more creative each year.
Chilli and cheese are the norm now and now we have masala and chilli by Coop which doesn't sound too bad.
The sultanas and caramelized onions in the buns give it a lovely sweetness while the Masala and chili give it that aroma and kick.
Overall, the buns were quite nice and didn't taste odd.

Sainsburys Carrot & Chocolate houmous (Bunny snacks) Food on the go

To be fair, chocolate houmous is not new but just not as popular as regular houmous.
Chocolate houmous was invented quite a few years ago but I have only managed to try two chocolate houmous brands over the last few years because they are not easy to get hold of.
The ones I have tried do not taste anything like houmous but more like a thick chocolate spread.
When I saw the Sainsburys one, I knew I had to try it.
Carrot and chocolate obviously are not meant to be paired together so I ate them separately.
Tasting the chocolate houmous on its own, I would say you could still taste the houmous as well as the chocolate.
Overall not bad.
I ended up pairing the chocolate houmous on Coop's Masala hot cross bun where it turned out to be quite delicious.

Zero Waste shop at Queen Mary University of London

Being green and organic is the trend these day.
Zero Waste is minimum waste in terms of recycling, reduction in packaging so that a goal of no trash can be achieved.
Zero Waste shops are popping all over world and Queen Mary has just opened a Zero Waste shop in February this year at the campus where the book shop used to be near the old canteen!!
Well done Queen Mary!

Flavour your own crisps with Spudos

I love crisps where you add seasoning to it and flavour them as you like but you don't really get these options except for SMITHs salt shaker.
However there are plenty of these options for fries like McCains Flavour maker as well as McDonalds in Asia where they launch regular seasoning to shake with your fries.
A few years ago in 2018, you could get CREATE-A-CRISP but sadly they were short lived so I couldn't get hold of them despite looking everywhere.
Now there is SPUDOS, there are five fun spud dust flavours to choose from: Nooch & Onion, Chip shop curry, David Bacon, Nosh Spice and Salt and Vinegar!

Sainsburys spring on the cheese & coleslaw sandwich (on the go)

The Sainsburys spring on the cheese & coleslaw sandwich is just your regular cheese & Coleslaw sandwich livened up with some ale and onion chutney according to the ingredients.
Overall, it was quite nice but I couldn't taste any ale and I found it a bit too sweet for my liking however I did like the pieces of spring onions which gave it some freshness.
As well as cheese & coleslaw, you can also get lemon chicken from the spring on range.
