Polish Plum Doughnut

Ever since I saw these plum doughnuts at a small coffee shop, I have been meaning to try it.
Finally got one today at the local Polish shop because there was a good variety of bakery items and many different doughnuts to offer.
For 99p, I was quite impressed by the doughnut itself which was fluffy and soft without being too sweet o oily.
The plum filling inside tasted like prune paste which also isn't too sweet with some tartness so definitely recommended but not recommended if you don't like the taste of prunes.

Lidl Baresa Italian sausage and ham tortelloni

There are so many options for tortelloni, you can get fresh ones or long life ones.
The Lidl Baresa Italian sausage and ham tortelloni is evidently a long life one as it can keep up to six months unopened.
Compared to fresh ones, I found them rather firm and chewy so probably best to cook it for longer.
Anyhow, the texture was still dry and weird although there was a nice sausage taste to it.

M&S Select Farms 2 British Outdoor Bred Gammon Steaks Unsmoked

There are so many options for gammon at different supermarkets.
So far this is my favourite because the texture of the gammon is very tender and moist.

Sainsbury's Smoked Mackerel Pate 100g

It's been a while since I had smoked mackerel pate.
According to the label, it is Tender, hot smoked mackerel is blended with soft cheese, crème fraîche, a touch of lemon juice and a pinch of cracked black pepper.
I found it rather fishy in a good way but the cracked black pepper was too strong for me.

Morrisons The best Chicken & chestnut Mushroom soup

Spotted the Morrisons Chicken & chestnut Mushroom soup which looked good so decided to give it a go.
M&S also have a similar version called chunky chicken and mushroom.
I found that the Morrisons version tasted similar but the Thyme was too strong and the soup was too watery.

Basak işkembe çorbası & yayla çorbası

Spotted these packet soups at the local Turkish shop so I grabbed the işkembe çorbası which is basically tripe soup.
The way the Turkish have it is very similar to the English way with vinegar but they have it with extra garlic sauce added on the table or with the addition of an egg yolk-lemon juice.
So basically with something tangy.
In many countries, tripe soup is a hangover food just like the Bulgarian version.
Anyway, the BASAK soup packet was really tasty as it was lemony and tangy so I imagine the homemade version would taste a million times nicer.
I added some noodles in the soup and it was really tasty.

Also tried yayla çorbası which is yoghurt and mint soup.
Again, it was another good soup because I loved the mint and sourness however this particular soup was hard to prepare because there were grains of rice in it which didn't cook properly.
I imagine the home made version would be rather thick and creamy.

La Tua Pasta at M&S Food

La Tua Pasta started off in the market in 2006, since then they have grown and you will find them at Borough market serving pasta, shelved at M&S to exhibiting at various shows!

I first tried the at Borough market for their gnocchi, then I bumped into them at the trade show and now I've spotted them on the shelves of M&S so bought the Pappardelle which tasted amazing!!

La Tua Pasta at Marks and Spencer:

Parpadelle cooked in two ways: tomato sauce and Turkish tripe soup.
