M&S pulled beef & porcini tartlets

As a fan of porchini and beef I had to try these tartlets which are filled with slow cooked pulled beef and red wine jus, porcini mushrooms and a garlic and herb crumb.
Visually the herb crumb was colourful but the taste overall was too garlicky and I couldn't quite taste the porcini which was a shame.

M&S Little Shopper basket and trolley

A while back, Marks and Spencers were doing these cute shopping baskets and trolley as part of the little shopper scheme.
I ended up buying the little basket for my keepsake.

M&S plant kitchen no beef welly

As soon as I saw spotted the new Christmas plant kitchen no beef welly, I knew it was going to be good because their no salt beef bun was spot on.
Just as I expected the no beef welly was really tasty, every element in the roll was delicious.
Sainsburys also have a meat version but I felt that the plant kitchen one fared so much better because the spinach, pickled carrots and mustard really stood out.

Morrisons Taste Plant hot n spicy no prawns

I love trying plant creations from different supermarkets but it has been hard trying anything from Morrisons because it is just off the radar.
Finally tried the plant hot n spicy no prawns because someone went to Morrisons.
To be honest, the texture was bang on and similar to a bad prawn toast from a stingy takeaway that didn't put much prawn in it.
However the taste could be improved because I could just taste the spiciness and that was it.
After pairing it with lemon or some guacamole, the no prawn bites were really tasty.

M&S Crispy Beef Burger spring rolls

Burger spring rolls are popular snacks at restaurants.
Marks and Spencers are also in the game with the new Crispy Burger spring rolls as well as TGI Fridays with the cheese burger spring rolls sold in the frozen section at Iceland.
As a M&S fan, I had to try the burger spring rolls and they did not disappoint.
It was crispy spring rolls filled with tasty grilled burger complimented by burger sauce which makes it complete.
I think the sauce is the star of the show because you can really taste the gherkins and dill which is telling me to buy the M&S burger sauce soon!

Sainsbury's Rudolph's Christmas Feast, Beef Wellington Special, Brussels sprout bhajia and Boxing day sub

Sainsbury's Christmas grab to go range has been very exciting this year with instagrammable star buns as well as modern treats with some fusion in it.
The offerings this year are Rudolph's Christmas Feast which is a Root vegetable patty, sage and onion vegan mayonnaise, umami carrot ribbons, caramelised carrot chutney, roasted seasoned and sweetened pumpkin and sunflower seeds and spinach in a star shaped roll.
The Beef Wellington Special which is filled with medium rare beef, roast seasoned mushrooms and chestnuts with black truffle, pickled red cabbage, seasoned mayonnaise and spinach in a croissant roll.
The Brussels sprout & parsnip bhajia.
I was really impressed with the star shaped bun and croll (croissant roll) because these are cafe quality items now available at the supermarket.
The beef wellington is quite similar to the Marks and Spencers plant version so I believe it could be the same supplier.
Anyway, in terms of taste, I found the Beef Wellington croll and Rudolphs Christmas Feast a bit too sweet for my tastebuds and the pickled cabbage in the Welly lacked its punch.
The Brussels sprout & parsnip bhajia was really tasty even though I was not keen on the woody parsnips.

Rudolph's Christmas Feast

Beef Wellington Special

Brussels sprout bhajia:
I held back getting these because of the parsnip and not the brussel sprouts.
Overall they were tasty and worked well with an Indian touch.

Boxing day smoked turkey sub with bubble & squeak, gravy mayo and cranberry sauce.
Overall, there were no surprises here, it literally tasted like left overs roast stuffed in a sub with some bitterness and I couldn't taste any gravy mayo or cranberry sauce.
As it was a little dry, adding some additional mayonnaise made it tastier.

M&S UHT real dairy cream

Who doesn't love real freshly whipped cream???
Marks and Spencers have your prayers answered with this UHT real dairy cream and the best thing is that it is NOT SWEETENED!!
The last thing I would ever want is sweetened cream.
Anyway, the squirty cream is just light and dreamy and goes well with anything.
