Lidl Vitasia Tofu in vegetable marinade

Spotted this tofu during Taste of Asia week at Lidl so decided to try it as the style reminds me of the flavoured tofu by Taifun.
The marinade tasted interesting because you could taste aniseed as well as Italian spices.
Overall, the tofu is well seasoned so it does not taste bland on its own.
To go with the tofu, I cooked it with some oyster mushrooms.
I liked the tofu because it was firm which is what people like in the West as opposed to the traditional soft silky texture which is not to my liking.

M&S Exotic Mushrooms - Selected Farms

Spotted these exotic mushrooms from M&S which I had to try.
In the box were Shiitake, yellow and grey oyster mushrooms.
It was impressive because they had yellow oyster mushroom which you don't normally find.
Cooked the mushrooms with tofu and it tasted really nice but the shiitake had a weird sour taste to them.

Marks Spencers milk and cookies yumnut

After having a decadent billionaires yumnut, my next one to try was the milk and cookies which has a lovely white icing.
Unfortunately, it was too sugary sweet for my liking and you could taste some oily aroma cutting through.

M&S 'Nduja meatballs with egg parppadelle

M&S have launched a new range of pastas with an amazing choice.
The best thing is that the range offers restaurant range pastas like parppadelle, giglio etc.
First on my list to try was the 'Nduja meatballs with egg parppadelle.
As expected, I really enjoyed it because the meatballs had a spicy kick to it and it was quality grounded meat.
The wides strips of parppadelle was comforting because you can have restaurant quality pasta at the comfort of your home.

Taste of Asia at Lidl: Pineapple & Coconut lassi, Dim sum and Tofu review

As it was the taste of Asia theme at Lidl, I went to Lidl for a peek to see what was on offer and I ended up getting some pineapple & coconut lassi, Vitasia tofu with vegetables marinade and Dim Sum selection.
The pineapple & coconut lassi was really good because it was like runny pineapple yoghurt with a coconut aftertaste.
It appears that the lid is missing just like the McEnnedy milkshakes sold earlier.

I haven't tried the dim sum yet but I don't expect it to be good because there is a lot of water content in the dimsum so it will either turn out too soft and sticky or chewy.

M&S Crispy Katsu Chicken Curry (Taste Japan)

Although I eat almost everything from Marks and Spencers, this is probably the first Japanese inspired item to try.
It is Crispy fried chicken with ginger and garlic rice and an aromatic curry sauce.
I didn't know what to expect but you have to heat the chicken separately if you are using the microwave.
The chicken came out beautifully crispy but I didn't do it justice by slicing it to serve like how it is served in restaurants.
Overall, M&S were smart to have it come in one piece so that it does not get dry when you put it in the oven.
The chicken was simply delicious with the rice, sadly the curry sauce was too sweet for my liking but since I had some M&S Yakisoba sauce, they went really well together as the yakisoba sauce was really tangy.

Rating: 4/5

Also had it again with M&S Turmeric sauce
