J. Lyons & Co. Brand biscuits

You will always see Lyons products at most shops but unknown to some, Lyons were a big brand back in the 1884s.

Back then, they had a tea shop in London Piccadily and then later manufactured biscuits as well which are found at many shops.

Currently spotted are: Lyons fig rolls, Lyons Jam tea cakes, Lyon Toffytops and more.

M&S Marks Spencer Mature cheese topped rolls

The Mature cheese topped rolls were launched about a month ago but sadly when they were launched I had already just bought some cheese topped rolls.
Finally, I ran out of rolls and got the M&S cheese topped rolls.
The first cheese topped roll I had was amazing, they smelled so nice when toasted, the cheese was not overwhelming like the brand I tried before.
It was simply delicious buttered.
The second roll I had was with chicken spam and it was also delicious.

M&S Marks Spencer mini meal lamb hotpot

Lamb hotpot is another English classic so I got the mini lamb hotpot from M&S.
When it was reheated the minced lamb was smelled inviting which was delicious with the potato slices.
Ideally, for best results you should put this in the oven but microwaving it came out ok as well.
Rating: 3/5

M&S Marks Spencer Lamb with Redcurrant Gravy & Mash

It wouldn't be Easter without some lamb so I got the M&S Lamb with Redcurrant Gravy & Mash. According to the sleeve, it is tender pieces of braised lamb in a tangy redcurrant and mint gravy, served with carrots and buttery colcannon mash.
This was the perfect combo because I have always wanted to try the Colcannon mash which you can also buy as a side.
As expected, the tender lamb pieces did not disappoint and the mash was tasty which shredded cabbage.
It would have been perfect if the redcurrant gravy had been more tangy and the carrot slices replaced with green peas.

Zwan chicken luncheon meat and beef hot dogs

ZWAN is a famous brand for Halal high quality processed meats under the parent company Zwanenberg Food Group in the Netherlands.
Oddly, I first came across the Zwan brand in Hong Kong at a local cafe called Wing Lok Yuen serving Zwan hotdogs.
These hotdogs were delicious and you will notice that they are thinner than other brands.

Anyway, in the UK you will find them almost everywhere especially the chicken luncheon meat as well as the hotdogs.
I tried the hotdog but they were different to the ones in Hong Kong so I suspect the ones in Hong Kong are 100% chicken as the ones I bought were beef.

The chicken luncheon meat was much nicer, it tasted how it should but it was a little salty.
You can think of the texture and taste like a skinless hotdog formed into slices.
It was delicious in a bun and adding pickled egg to it took it to another level.
Hopefully I can get hold of the lemon zaatar luncheon meat which I believe will taste nice.

While looking for the lemon and zaatar, I ended up discovering a beef luncheon meat as well as turkey.
For the time being I got the chicken luncheon meat with olives which was different.
There was also chicken luncheon spicy as well which I contemplated on getting but I would imagine is just chicken luncheon with chilli oil blended in. There is a similar dish in Sichuan where they cook luncheon meat with Sichuan spices.
Overall, the chicken luncheon with olives was not bad it just had extra salty and nutty flavours coming from the olives on the same luncheon meat.

Zwan Turkey with herbs luncheon meat:
Compared to chicken, the turkey wasn't as tasty but glad I tried it.

Zwan Spicy chicken luncheon meat:
I hesitated getting the spicy chicken luncheon meat because you can just chilli sauce to it but anyway I decided to try it anyway because you don't often see it around.
The chili actually made it moreish so I didn't regret getting it.

Turkey Luncheon and Beef spotted:

Zwan Chicken with turmeric and cumin spotted but regretted not buying it because it is now sold out.
Other Zwan finds:
