[Review] M&S Marks and Spencers Cook With Magic Sprinkle

Marks and Spencers have come up with a good range of ingredients, recipes and even meal kits to make it convenient for people to cook at home.

The M&S Food Cook With Magic sprinkle got me curious so I got a sachet to try.

According to the ingredients it is just salt and pepper and obviously it won't be as simple as that.

When I opened the sachet, the aroma was like the broth powders that you get for instant noodles.

As for the taste, I thought it was a bit weak to be called a Magic Sprinkle as there was no magic coming out from it.

If you try the powder on its own, I would say it is slightly sweet.

[Review] M&S Marks and Spencers breaded Scottish Scampi

Earlier this month M&S launched a good deal of Fish and Chip shop items like beer battered cod, battered scallops, Haddock kiev, lightly dusted seabass and even chip shop scraps that it got me hungry for fish and chips so I ended up getting the breaded Scottish Scampi.

Scampi is made up of langoustine or Dublin Bay prawn and they taste so delicious with some freshly squeezed lemon juice.

The Marks and Spencers breaded Scottish Scampi was really nice and prawny so it was just tasty!

[Review] M&S Marks and Spencers meal for one Fish & Chips, New chip shop range with chip shop scraps

Earlier this month M&S launched a good deal of Fish and Chip shop items like beer battered cod, battered scallops, Haddock kiev, lightly dusted seabass and even chip shop scraps that it got me hungry for fish and chips so I ended up getting the meal for one Fish & Chips.

Although they are not from the chippie but the fish and chips were amazing.
They heated well in the halogen oven coming out crisp and delicious.
With a bit of sauce, the plate of fish and chips was demolished extremely quickly.
The only complaint was the portion size because I was still able to eat chicken curry with rice afterwards.

Update Feb 2021.
The packaging seems to have changed a bit and the portion seems to be bigger:

[Review] M&S Marks and Spencers 2 lightly dusted Cod Fillets in seasoned flour

I love fish so got the Marks and Spencers 2 lightly dusted Cod Fillets in seasoned flour.
It was fuss free because you just heat it in the oven and it is ready to eat.
The cod is nice and flakey so overall delicious with chips or some salad.

[Review] Jammie Dodgers Mini raspberry

Jammie Dodgers are pretty biscuits with jam in the middle.
They are girly as well as delicious because the top biscuit has a strawberry cut out where you can see the red jam.
As well as the regular size Jammie Dodgers they come in a mini size which are too cute to eat.
They are about the size of a 10p coin and in my opinion they taste better because you get more jam to biscuit ratio by eating the biscuit as a whole.
With the regular Jammie dodger, you have to finish it in a few bites so you get more biscuit to jam ratio.

I am not sure if there is a strawberry version for the mini, but the ones I tried a few years ago looked like strawberry from the packaging.

[Review] Sainsbury's Sweet Potato

Although I am not really keen on Sweet Potatoes I ended up getting a bag from Sainsburys.
Sweet potatoes are just weird because they are sweet.
I always eat them first of last if they are on my plate.
However having sweet potatoes with salted caramel icecream or clotted cream is such a good pairing inspired by the Japanese sweet potato dessert with icecream.
As well as having it as a dessert, I had them roasted and they tasted great on their own just like the ones you get from street vendors in Hong Kong!

[Review] Sainsbury's be good to yourself Houmous

I always eat houmous on a regular basis so when I saw the Sainsbury's be good to yourself Houmous I decided to get it.
As it is claimed to be lower in calories I was expecting the taste to be bland but it was just as good as the regular houmous.
The only complaint was the plastic tub itself because it was flimsy and weak compared to other brands.
