[Review] M&S Marks and Spencers gastropub 2 Creme Brulee

The creme brulee is another popular dessert in restaurants and pubs.
Before it is served, the caramel on top is torched to caramelize it.
At M&S they have the gastropub Creme Brulee which I decided to try.
I liked the way the toffee disc was separate which keeps it intact when you take it home.
Overall, I found the vanilla custard a bit too sugary for my liking.

[Review] M&S Marks and Spencers Prawn Layer Salad

This salad was made up of layers of salad, pasta topped with prawns in Marie Rose sauce.
I thought it was all good except for the julienne raw carrots at the bottom.

[Review] M&S Marks and Spencers gastropub Tarte Au Citron Slices

Lemon tarts are often found in the dessert menu of restaurants or in the cabinets of coffee shops.

Due to lockdown, the only place you can get the lemon tart is at the supermarket.
Marks and Spencers known for good food offers the Tarte Au Citron Slices in the gastropub range.

The lemon filling was smooth and sweet while the pastry was sweet and buttery.

[Review] M&S Marks and Spencers Kefir Raspberry

I have not tried Kefir before so got the Marks and Spencers Kefir Raspberry to try.
As well as raspberry, there is a plain one.

According to Wiki:
Kefir is a fermented milk drink similar to a thin yogurt that is made from kefir grains, a specific type of mesophilic symbiotic culture. The drink originated in the North Caucasus, Eastern Europe and Russia,[3] where it is prepared by inoculating cow, goat, or sheep milk with kefir grains.

The raspberry Kefir was pinkish in colour and the consistency was slightly thick yet a bit runny.

As for the taste, it was really sour with a raspberry kick to it yet the sourness is different to Greek yoghurt.
I think would go well with a slice of cake to balance the sourness of the yoghurt!

[Review] M&S Marks and Spencers 4 Mini Pork Pies Topped with Ploughman's Pickle

I am so glad I tried these pork pies topped with Ploughman's pickle chutney because it takes the boring pork pies to the next level.
I couldn't quite taste the cheese but the sweetness of the chutney was quite nice and you can taste the pepper and onions in the pork filling.

[Review] M&S Marks and Spencers Made without wheat Gluten Free Cod Fishcakes

I love fishcakes so this time tried Marks and Spencers Made without wheat Gluten Free Cod Fishcakes.

The coating was crisp and the filling was just how you would expect a cod fishcake to be with silky potato mash and bits of cod flavoured by the parsley and bay leaves.

According to the label, there is also fish stock to flavour it.

Other fishcakes I have tried at M&S:
Salmon Fishcake

[Review] M&S Marks and Spencers Stir Fry Rice

I happened to get two packs of the Marks and Spencers Stir Fry Rice.
The first pack I simply microwaved it to see how the rice tastes without anything.
For some reason I just didn't like it and the texture was strange.
It is supposed to have spring onions and soy sauce seasoning in it already but it was very mild.
The second pack I cooked it on a pan, again it didn't help, the taste and texture was just not to my liking which is interesting because the other rice in Marks and Spencers usually taste good especially the Indian Rices.
