Maggi Hot Cup Chicken and Curry

Maggi is famous for Maggi noodles as well as their sauces.
Now you can get their noodles in cups for convenience!
They taste just as great as the packet version if not better because the noodles are thinner.
The chicken was simply delicious but the curry one was too spicy for my liking.

McVities Trio Toffee

Trio is a chocolate bar that has a biscuit base topped with toffee cream coated in thick milk chocolate.
Overall, it is very similar to Jacobs Club.
Sadly, I found TRIO too sweet overall and couldn't quite taste the toffee.

Tesco beef casserole and dumplings

Beef casserole and dumplings is such a comforting dish.
This time I tried the Tesco version to compare it to the MS and Coop ones.
Overall, I felt that the chunks of beef were the star of the show as they were big and tender soft chunks of brisket.
The dumplings which looked anaemic were not as bad as they looked as it tasted great with the gravy.

Waitrose Summer Rhubarb & Custard Trifle

I am so glad that the Waitrose Rhubarb & Custard Trifle is back.
Labelled as layers of rhubarb compote, sponge, vanilla custard and stabilised cream.
Rhubarb custard is always up my alley and I would definitely recommend this as the rhubarb compote is exactly how it should be with a refreshing tartness that goes well with the custard and cream.
Although the rhubarb compote is on the runny side but it was fantastic.
Interestingly, the sponge you get is rather thick and generous compared to other brands.
The only thing I did not like was the stabilised cream which was a bit too heavy for my liking.

Mars Raspberry Smash from Australia

I was so excited when the Mars Raspberry Smash were stocked at B&Ms.
The idea of raspberry and chocolate sounded good and it was something different from the usual Mars Bar which has been caramel, nougat and chocolate.
As with all Australian treats, I find them too sweet and the same applied to the chocolate on this which stole the show from the raspberry nougat.
Overall, not bad as the raspberry nougat was rather nice with the caramel.

Hellmann's gravy mayonnaise

Mayonnaise used to be simply mayonnaise but now it has been taken to the next level with truffle, garlic, herbs and things like that.
As a fan of gravy and mayo I had to get the new Hellmann's Gravy flavour mayonnaise.

It is available at Iceland and Morrisons.
Iceland didn't have it so went to Morrisons where I saw the NEW aisle banner for the mayo however I couldn't find them.
It turns out that the new mayo was further down the shelf from the banner.

Anyway, grabbed a bottle and paid 2.50 for it.
Went to the nearest cafe and ordered chips to test it out.
Overall, it was quite a nice mayo with hints of onion but I felt that it could have been saltier or had some umami in taste to give it that proper gravy kick.
Other interesting mayonnaises I have tried are the CHIP SHOP mayo and Sage & onion stuffing flavoured mayo by Sainsburys.
Can't wait to see other flavours to come.

Ms Molly's Strawberry Trifle

Spotted Ms Molly's Strawberry Trifle at Tescos so gave them a try.
I simply love trifle and the look of the sleeve was colourful and had this Aunt Bessie feeling to it.
Ms Molly's is supposed to be an everyday value brand so I didn't have any expectation in taste but I was got shock.
Not only was it tasty and not too sweet, I found two whole strawberries in the jelly.
The product description for this is:
Layers of strawberries in a strawberry flavoured jelly, custard, stabilised cream and sponge.
Anyway, I really liked this trifle so well done Tescos and prefer it over their regular version.
