KOKA Multigrain baked noodles with purple corn

I love Koka purple noodles which I came across in 2012 from Asian Supermarkets.
Now its 2025 and they have evidently been successful as the range and offerings is much bigger now.
KOKA is a famous brand from Singapore.
Back then, they were labelled as purple wheat noodles and now they are called Multigrain baked noodles with purple corn.
The packaging is a little different and they now have cup versions as well.
I felt that the cup versions were better in a way because you get seaweed and lots of tofu pieces in the mala flavour.
To summarize, the instant noodles were all good especially the chilli and lime and for the spicy flavours like Mala Stir fry, expect a super spicy flavour.
As well as the purple noodles, the multigrain with oats and barley was also top notch as the flavourings tasted natural.
Last but not least, the Broad and bouncy noodle range was also to my liking as the texture was perfectly soft with a good chew to it so I believe the other flavours are going to be good.
In terms of nutrition, these noodles are higher in wholegrains, baked not fried, natrual and low in fat.
You can finally get them in UK now and I can see them doing well at Whole Foods and Holland Barratt while the spicy Asian flavours would sell well at TianTian and Longdan and StarryMart.

[Fruit] Milk Apple / Star Apple

This isn't my first time but didn't have photos of it so decided to have it again.
They are either green or purple like aubergine.
Inside, it was soft and viscous tasting like caramel.
The texture is bit like mushy persimmon.
In Vietnam they snigger about this fruit as it is often referred to as a booby fruit.

M&S Dippy Egg Filled Hot Cross Buns

After the success of the lemon curd filled hot cross buns, these Dippy Egg filled hot cross buns are definitely going to be lush.
Think soft and pillowly chocolate buns filled with a gooey sweet white chocolate filling that looks like an egg you've just dipped into.
These were selling like hot cakes as they were gone within a flash!

M&S cinn-a-yum buns (cinnamon buns)

M&S cinn-a-yum buns (cinnamon buns)
Another must have from M&S as well as the dippy egg hot cross buns.
They were delicious straight out the packet like ice buns, but with a heavenly cinnamon taste and icing.
The packet recommends warming them up so I microwaved them for about 10 seconds which made them softer and more pillowly.
Overall, I loved them because I am an iced bun person and the buns itself has cinnamon as well as the icing.

Tilda basmati and wild rice

Tilda basmati and wild rice, a nice convenient side of rice to complement anything.
Paired it with some courgettes which was perfect.

English Cheesecake Company mint chocolate chip cheesecake bites

English Cheesecake Company have been around for years specializing in quality cheesecakes yet I have not tried them.
Finally tried their frozen cheesecakes because of the mint chocolate flavour which can be eaten frozen or at room temperature.
They are delicious if mint chocolate is your thing but the only thing that let it down was the biscuit base which was rancid.
I preferred them frozen as the chocolate chips are nice and hard.
Finally stocked at tesco on thurs after seeing the shelf label on Monday.

Tesco summer edition cherry bakewell cheesecake

Labelled as a creamy almond flavour batter on biscuit base topped with cherry sauce, vanilla cream and almonds.
It was really nice because the almond flavour is there.
I am not sure why the print says almond batter because batter to me means flour water mixture.
Anyway, the cheesecake part was very light and not the usual texture.
It was more like a mousse texture.
Overall very tasty with the cherry sauce but I would have liked the biscuit base to be thinner because it was too sweet.
Some tart cherry compote on top would be nice.
After trying the cheesecake, I had a look at the ingredients at the base of the box and it does say mousse.

Aldi Mystery hot cross bun flavours

Aldi are now doing mystery hot cross buns like mystery pringles where you have to guess the flaovurs.

New Bakery!!! Mrs Bakery 包租婆 in Chinatown

Mrs bakery, a new Asian bakery in town which is quite different from the rest in Chinatown.
It has modern decor and arrangement like Japanese bakeries with a drinks counter at the back offering creative coffees and unusual beverages etc.

The bakeries are reasonably priced and packaged well.
I was captivated by the egg tart and ended up getting a drink and a couple of more items.
Here was what I had.
Egg Tart, Taro salted egg drum, pandan rice bun and the pistachio coconut water.

Egg Tart:
The egg tart was more like a Portuguese tart with an egg flan type filling that was not too sweet with lovely crisp pastry layers.

Pandan Rice Bread:
Dinky little pandan rice bread but it was nice.
Lovely pandan aroma, again not too sweet with a nice chew to the bread texture.
Reminds me of Ryoyupan in Japan which specializes in rice bakery.

Taro salted egg drum:
Another nice bun with a soft texture filled with salted egg.
I was expecting the filling to be taro and salted egg mixed together but they were separate.
There was more yellow in ratio the the mauve taro filling which tasted a bit bitter but overall nice as it was not too sweet or salty.

Pistachio and coconut water:
Finished with the drink which was seriously good.
It was just plain coconut water topped with pistachio foam which was bliss and hydrating.
Overall, I was really impressed mainly because nothing was too sweet but found some funny spelling like slated which I think they mean salted.

Will return for other stuff and the rice latte.
