[Review] exclusive to Iceland - Barratt Flumps

Quoted from the Icefresh Foods website:

"Icefresh Foods transforms five of the most-loved Barratt sweets into ice creams, exclusively available at Iceland!
Working in partnership with leading retro confectionery brand Barratt, we are aiming to make the nation’s summer a little bit sweeter this year, by launching a range of five new ice creams based on the Barratt’s classic range of sweets, all exclusively available at Iceland stores.

The range will include fun frozen twists on the Fruit Salad, Black Jack, Flumps and Wham sweets, plus a cool new take on the popular Dip Dab sweet-lollies.

I know this is a late post but better late than never.

The taste of this Barratt Flumps was just like flumps with a brain freeze.
If you have tried Barratt flumps you will know that familiar marshmallow taste without the gelatin.
Definitely my favourite icecream from the Barratt's icecream sweet range.

[Review] Iceland Cones Mint Choc Chip

As a foodie, I love trying different brands of ice creams, this time I got Iceland Cones Mint Choc Chip.
The design was simple and attractive and I like the cute chocolate chips on the ice cream but the description "decorated with chocolate flakes" is somewhat confusing because the ones in the picture are clearly chocolate chips.

Anyway, the ice cream looked just like the product shot so it was good.

Having had a bad experience with Iceland's Belgian Chocolate Mint Majestics, I didn't have any expectations for this.
To my surprise, they were really good.
The mint icecream had a weak mint taste but I loved the equal mix of chocolate icecream and mint icecream together which make it tasty.
The amount of chocolate chips are just right so that the icecream overall isn't too sweet.

Icefresh Foods transforms flumps, Black jacks, fruit salad and dip dabs into Ice Creams

According to Icefresh Food's website, there are now some sweet ice creams available at Iceland!!!

Quoted from their website:

"Icefresh Foods transforms five of the most-loved Barratt sweets into ice creams, exclusively available at Iceland!
Working in partnership with leading retro confectionery brand Barratt, we are aiming to make the nation’s summer a little bit sweeter this year, by launching a range of five new ice creams based on the Barratt’s classic range of sweets, all exclusively available at Iceland stores.

The range will include fun frozen twists on the Fruit Salad, Black Jack, Flumps and Wham sweets, plus a cool new take on the popular Dip Dab sweet-lollies.

Shoppers will be able to stock up on Wham Ice Cream tubs filled with smooth raspberry ice cream, rippled with raspberry sauce and topped with sour sprinkles, to really give consumers that signature tongue-tingling Wham flavour!

While the Black Jack Lollies will have customers split with the unmistakable “love it / hate it” taste of aniseed, the delicious pineapple and raspberry flavours of the Fruit Salad lollies will definitely leave everyone wanting more.

A near identical replica of the original sweet, with a cute twist of pink & yellow ice creams, the creamy marshmallow Flump Ice Cream Lollies - at only 55kacl each - can be a guilt-free treat enjoyed by the whole family!

And who would have thought it, a Dip Dab ice lolly complete with a sachet of sherbet for dipping! This retro lolly really is perfectly designed to recreate those childhood memories of enjoying a Sherbet Dip Dab in the playground.

Russell Tanner, Marketing Director at Barratt, says: “We know Barratt fans are always looking for new ways to enjoy their favourite sweets and these ice creams are set to become classics in their own right.”

Sally Bentley, Iceland’s Senior Buyer for Ice Cream and Dessert says: “We are really excited to exclusively launch the Barratt brand into our Ice Cream range this summer.  We truly believe that the taste of the classic flavours of Fruit Salad and Black Jack will make our customers scream for ice cream!” "

[Review] Iceland Mini Salted Caramel Vienna

Iceland has always had these mini cute Vienna icecream lollies but the flavours have always been vanilla and strawberry which were a bit boring.
Personally I like mint which they is out of stock or I would definitely buy it.
On my recent visit to Iceland, they had Salted Caramel which is another favourite of mine so I got them.

As soon as I got home, I couldn't wait to try them.

The Mini Salted Caramel Vienna was soft and the sweetness was just right with a lovely caramel flavour.
If you are looking for the thin chocolate layers, there isn't much which was ok for me.
To summarize, the Vienna is basically a mini version of the Viennetta with less chocolate.

Video:

Overall, I was pleased with the taste and hopefully they will stock the Mint Chocolate.

[Review] Iceland Chicken Stew and Dumplings £1 meal

The Iceland Chicken Stew and Dumplings for £1 was quite nice especially carrot, gravy as well as the dumplings, however the chicken was a bit dry for me.

[Review] Iceland's Majestics Mint

Went to Icelands and got the Majestics Mint which are inspired by magnums.
They were reduced to 50p so I was expecting cheap waxy chocolate.

Boy I was wrong, on first bite I was shocked how good the chocolate was but sadly it was way too sweet that it killed the mint icecream.

In contrary the mint icecream was tasteless.

I even rinsed my mouth and tried the mint icecream on its own and it was bland, there were some faint bursts of mint which tasted like mouthwash!

[Review] Iceland Toad in the Hole £1 meal

I have been trying out Iceland £1 meals because they look legit but then frozen meals cost around £1-4 depending on portion size and ingredients.

Iceland's Toad in the Hole needed the oven so didn't try it until recently.

Basically, it is quite a big piece of Yorkshire so it is quite filling and gravy is definitely needed for that extra delicious factor.

When it was done, I was too lazy to make gravy even though gravy these days are instant by just adding water.
I had the Toad in the Hole with plum chutney which complemented it nicely and the pork sausages were as good as I expected.
