Nestle Mega Mint chocolate stick

I liked the mint icecream in the middle but I didn’t like the cheap chocolate coating on the outside with crispy nuts on it.

NESTLE Drumstick Mint chocolate chip cookie

It appears that the mint chocolate cookie is a regional flavour because I don’t seem to find it on their European or American website.

Basically the cone is filled with mint and chocolate icecream which you can see after you have eaten the top half of the icecream that is topped with dark cookie bits (possibly black in colour).
It is interesting they have used dark cookies and they taste like chunky oreo biscuits.
Overall I was quite satisfied with this icecream because the cookie bits were soft with a doughy taste.

Dreyer's D-Collection Pistachio icecream cone

Dreyer's D-Collection pistachio icecream is gorgeous but the icecream cone version was disappointing because the icecream in the cone is mainly vanilla and not pistachio.
The only pistachio icecream you get is the visible part which is not a lot!!

Hojicha latte drumstick by Nestle

I don't normally try Nestle's drumsticks because the flavours are quite boring but I was looking at some icecreams when I discovered they had Hojicha latte flavour.

Hojicha is a roasted tea from Japan with a hint of caramel.

The Hojicha latte icecream tasted quite nice with a light tea taste.
I assumed the whole cone was filled with that icecream but when I got to the cone part it had vanilla icecream in it as well which was disappointing because only the top part was hojicha and the bottom tastes like vanilla icecream with a hint of coconut.

They also have pistachio drumsticks but if the bottom half is not filled with 100% pistachio icecream I would be pretty angry because I love pistachio icecream.

Vanilla chocolate cone Cornetto Confectionary

From the appearance, you could be easily fooled thinking it was a tiny Cornetto!
But it is actually a non-icecream confectionary!!

Wrapped just like the real thing, there is a real wafer cone inside with Vanilla filling topped with nuts and chocolate.

At the bottom of the cone, it is also has chocolate too!

The taste was quite interesting because the vanilla icecream was mimicked by whipped vanilla cream and it was enjoyable and fun eating it!
The first non melting cornetto!

Happy Cow dairy-free ice cream

As you know Hong Kong is slow and even if they wanted to try new ideas from other places they are quite cautious about approaching them.

Luckily we have Happy Cow a brand of dairy-free, gluten-free, soy-free, low glycemic vegan and most importantly Kosher icecream.

A genius brand, ice-cream made with coconut milk!

I was really lucky and got to visit Happy Cow and watch them make ice-cream and try their other flavours.

★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Lets start with ice cream making:
The main ingredients were put into a blender including guar gum a natrual thickener, coconut sugar (brown) which gives their ice-creams a brown colour.
Then water is added and the mixture is blended and put in the machine.
After it is churned for a while, Coconut milk is added

While the mixture is churning, the icecream containers and lids are being prepared.

When the icecream mixture gets thick the icecream is almost ready.

A sample is tasted before it is put into the cartons and frozen to ensure quality of smoothness and taste.

The final steps!! Ice Cream in containers and into the freezer!!
Final Products!!

★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
At the moment the main flavours they offer are:
Chocolate
Lime
Cherry, almond, fudge
Pistachio
Coffee
Pina Colada

There are many other tempting flavours in development to be launched later!

All these flavours have an extremely coconutty taste attributed to coconut milk and coconut sugar, and the texture is thick and creamier than ordinary icecreams.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Pistachio:

There was no colouring used in the Pistachio which is why it is not green and the brown colour is because of the coconut sugar.
This flavour was rich and creamy with delicious pieces of pistachio in it.

★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Chocolate:

There was a rich chocolate and coconut taste.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Lime:

Again its colour is slightly caramel because of the coconut sugar.
This was my favourite because the taste of lime was strong and refreshing.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Cherry, almond fudge:

This is bound to be everyones favourite with chunks of American cherries, fudge and almond flavour.

Mini mochi ice ( Green apple flavour )

This is the green apple flavour of Mini mochi ice from Kowloon dairy.

It comes in a pack of four individually wrapped mochis in a box.
The taste was a bit sweet and the apple was artificial.

Kowloon dairy Mochi Ice Chestnut Flavour

This is the new Chestnut flavour from Kowloon dairy, it is chestnut flavoured icecream wrapped inside a thin mochi.

I felt that it was a bit starchy for my liking but then I do not really like artificial tasting chestnut products.

Marunaga Sweet potato icecream

I was attracted to this icecream because of the packaging, it appears to be a sweet potato inside.

After opening the wrapper, it looked like a real sweet potato.

The wafer shell has been cleverly made to mimick the sweet potato surface and colour.

Inside the sandwiched wafer there is icecream and sweet potato paste.

The sweet potato icecream is amazingly deliciously because the vanilla is not that sweet but with the sweet potato paste on top, the sweetness is just right.
The sweet potato paste makes it more believable as if you were really have sweet potato with icecream.

The only disappointment was that the wafer was not crispy.

Kowloon dairy Mochi Ice Almond Flavour

This is the new Almond flavour from Kowloon dairy, it is almond flavoured icecream wrapped inside a thin mochi.

In the past I have tried Taro which was my favourite.

The almond one is quite nice and not too sweet.
It tastes like the almond milk drinks but in icecream form wrapped in chewy mochi dusted in flour.
