Hong Kong Nissin’s new black pepper crab cup noodle

Discovered two new Nissin cup noodle flavours: Black pepper crab and Chili crab.
Both seem to be inspired by Singapore as shown on the label.

Black pepper crab:

Tried this one first because I wasn’t sure how hot the Chili was going to be.
I liked the black cup design and there were some instructions, which say that you can microwave it.
In the cup noodles you can see some dehydrated purple onions, very fancy!

The noodles were ready to eat quite soon after pouring boiling water and didn’t need microwaving.
As for the taste, it had a strong black pepper taste but you can’t really taste crab in the broth.

Other flavours in this series Chili crab.

Suppucho sour plum flavour potato chips

Tried these Suppucho sour plum flavour crisps by Nissin.
They were surprisingly good and not too sweet with a taste that was a mix of Salt and vinegar and prawn cocktail.

Nissin Spicy Seafood Flavour potato crisps‏

Nissin is a famous brand of Japanese cup noodles and now they have potato crisps which are the same flavour as their cup noodles.

The one I got was the Nissin Spicy Seafood Flavour potato crisps and there was also a sesame one but it was sold out.
The crisps tasted the same as the noodles but the spiciness was much stronger and you could taste the intense octopus flavouring.

Nissin Tom Yum Goong cup noodles

I was hesitant in getting Nissin's Tom Yum Goong cup noodles because I wasn't sure how spicy it would be.
Anyway, it turned out I loved it because it had nice lemon tones to it and the lemongrass was not strong.
The spiciness was spicy as expected but the tangy notes made it appetizing.

Nissin Cup noodle white

Nissin's new white flavoured cup was produced for the Sochi 2014 winter olympics.
As I can't read Japanese I don't know what flavour this was, but when I peeled the lid, there was a milky smell and you could see pieces of dehydrated potatoes, bacon, egg and other vegetables.
After adding water, it smelt really similar to carbonara.
The taste was really creamy at first but my tongue got accustomed to it and then I could taste hints of bacon and a savoury milk taste.
Compared to other flavours, this one does not taste salty but the noodles and soup have a viscous feel to it when you slurp the noodles.

Nissin US Salsa Picante Shrimp Flavor cup noodles

Tried this American cup noodle by Nissin called Salsa Picante Shrimp which seems Mexican.

When I pulled the lid back, the contents were quite red and there was lots of chili powder.

After water was poured I could see lots of herbs, however the taste was not as tangy as I hoped because there was a picture of lime on it.

The ingredients label was quite strange because it did not list any herbs or cumin so I could not find out what herbs was in the noodles.

Nissin US Creamy chicken cup noodles

Tried the American version of Nissin's creamy chicken cup noodles.

The packaging is similar but has English on it instead of Asian.

I prefer the US version to the Asian Nissin cup noodles because the noodles had more texture.
Even the noodles itself you can see it has finely grounded wheat/grains in it.
The texture was really nice because the Asian ones just go soft and slimey.

The chicken broth was nice and chickeny not bland like the Asian Nissin version.

The colour of the broth was quite yellowly.
The Asian version has dehydrated lumps of chicken and this one does not.

Nissin seafood cup noodles

The old packaging for this used to be a bowl and now the cup holding it is taller.

The pot noodles contain dehydrated eggs, carrots, cabbages, spring onions, surumi meat.

The noodles did not taste nice.
I tried them during all softnesses from hard to soft and I didnt like it and the soup base which was weak.

Nissin: Black garlic oil tonkotsu flavour cup noodles

Finally tried the cup noodle version of the black garlic oil tonkotsu.

The soup is the same as the packet ones, however in the cup version there are dehydrated egg bits and pork.

The noodles do not taste as good as the packet ones because the texture is different, however the black garlic oil was fun putting it in the cup noodles and seeing the droplets disperse.
