Marks and Spencers Butter Chicken Takeaway for one with pilau rice, bombay aloo and onion bhajis

The Chinese and Indian takeaways for one are really cute at M&S.
It really makes sense during this time because a meal for two could be a bit too much and with these cute portion sizes you could do a mix and match and end up getting an Indian and Chinese for sharing.
To be honest, I split this one person meal over two lunches.
The first day I had rice with the butter chicken and the next day I had rice with the bombay aloo.
The butter chicken was delicious as expected with succulent pieces of chicken while the bombay aloo was quite fiery but overall I really enjoyed this.
Next time I am tempted to try the Chinese takeaway for one.

Quorn Vegetarian steak slice

Most Quorn products are good.
This time I tried the Quorn vegetarian steak slice which I really like because the gravy was delicious and the texture was like minced meat in the middle.
New packaging spotted in March 2021:

Boots Vegan no duck and hoisin

So far the veganuary range at Boots have been quite impressive. The ones I liked were the no cheese & onion and the no tuna & sweetcorn.

This time I tried the Boots Vegan no duck and hoisin which was equally impressive but I think it could be subjective because I like the taste of spring onions, cucumber and hoisin sauce so it was delish.

It was a convincing vegan no duck hoisin wrap because the meaty duck texture was there along with the hoisin sauce, spring onions which were the key making it taste like a regular duck wrap.

Coop GRO Plant based eating THE Sausage roll review

A few days ago I chose the vegan steak bake by Gro which has soya pieces in shroom gravy.
It was a no brainer because the steak bake had gravy.
Just for the curious sake, I tried the gro sausage roll a few days later so that I could compared it with other vegan sausage rolls.
The pastry was a bit too firm and hard while the sausage filling was a bit dry but the herbs were so strong that I did not like it as much as the gro steak bake.

Marks and Spencers Extremely Salted caramel and chocolate Hot Cross Bun

After trying the triple chocolate hot cross buns I decided to try the Salted caramel and chocolate hot cross buns.

They were really nice compared the the M&S toffee fudge chocolate hot cross buns in 2015.

Marks and Spencers Plant Kitchen chickenless tikka masala review

I had doubts on the Marks and Spencers Plant Kitchen chickenless tikka masala because the soya chunks chicken used for the chicken alternatives I tried before by M&S last year were chewy.

I was shocked how the texture of the alternative chicken which are pea protein was like real pieces of springy smooth dark chicken meat.

M&S have really done a good job because pea protein was exactly like chicken just like their no beef which is also spot on.

As with all protein pieces, they don't really taste of anything but if the texture is right you end up with lots of convincing dishes these days because some poor quality meat [not found in MS] are tasteless anyway.

Overall delicious but I would like more heat and some pilau rice to go with it.

Coop GRO Plant based eating THE VEGAN STEAK BAKE review

The vegan steak bake by Gro has soya pieces in shroom gravy.

It was actually spot on in terms of texture and taste but they over did it with the thyme.

As well as the steak bake, they also have a vegan sausage roll in the range.
