Kalettes from Marks and Spencers

Kalettes are a hybrid of Kale and Brussel sprouts which are cute without the bitterness.
Several supermarkets have had them in the last two years.
This year I got mine from M&S Food.
Tried them raw and they were surprisingly delicious with a salty savoury taste without any grassiness.
I simply blanched them for dinner and they tasted like tiny spring greens with a firm texture.
When you blanch Kalettes you get this fascinating emerald green liquid which is fun and natural.
With other green vegetables you don't get this shade but more of a  pea green
Overall the Kalettes are adorable and delicious.

Chinese takeaway meal for one at Marks and Spencers review

These adorable Chinese meals for one were spotted at Marks and Spencers.

It really makes sense during this time because a meal for two could be a bit too much and with these cute portion sizes you could do a mix and match and end up getting an Indian and Chinese for sharing.

I liked the way the Happy New year is in Traditional characters while the box has simplified.

Year of the ox box

Sweet & Sour Chicken box

Ended up getting the Chicken in black bean sauce box for one which I had over a few day.
I started off with the vegetable noodles for breakfast which was really nice.
Next I had the pancake rolls as a snack which were quite salty.
The star of the show had to be the black bean chicken with big pieces of white meat and the sauce had a strong black bean taste.
I liked the way it had waterchestnuts which had a nice crunch without being too sweet and the Shaoxing wine gave it more depth.
Overall, I was impressed with the quality of the takeaway meals because they are not as greasy as the shops and they don't have msg.

Marks and Spencers Plant Kitchen Indian style no chicken wrap

It's veganuary so there are so many new Plant Kitchen finds.
This time I tried the Plant Kitchen Indian style no chicken wrap which has onion bhaji and tomato & chili chutney.
M&S have definitely nailed it this year because all their meat alternatives have improved since last year.
The texture of the no chicken pieces were just like white meat and the wrap overall was tasty with the spices.
I would have liked the tomato and chili to be louder was it wasn't
Overall, a good Indian option without the mango chutney sweetness because I am not fond of mango chutney.
