Wei Lih Jia Jan Mein 維力炸醬麵

These are my favourite instant soupless noodles from Taiwan which are popular in Europe.

I always get a stash of them from the Chinese supermarkets in UK.

Years and years ago, the packaging was different and it used to be yellow and green.

I thought they were discontinued when they changed the packaging but recently found out that they are still around but in a white, blue and red design.

The noodles are flat and wavy.

Bean paste:

Broth powder:

I always cook them with the broth powder, then draining it quickly to mix the yummy bean sauce to it.

They taste amazing because the paste in the sachet is spicy with a strong black bean taste to it.

Kuang Chuan asparagus juice 光泉蘆筍汁

The taste of this asparagus juice was rather disappointing because it just tasted like cane sugar juice.
On the packaging, it states that a low percentage of the drink is made up of asparagus juice so what is the made of??

Francis Pineapple cakes

Got these lovely Taiwanese pineapple cakes from a friend.

The pastel blue packaging and design was really nice, each pineapple cake was individually wrapped and colour coded.






There were five flavours: 
-Coconut
-Lemon
-Walnut and coffee
-Macadamia and sunflower seeds
-Flax seeds

Coconut:


I really liked this because it had dried coconut flakes on the pastry which gave it a great mouthfeel and coconutty taste.

Lemon:

Lemon was also my favourite because it was refreshing and an unusual flavour.

Walnut and coffee:


The flavour of this was quite strong with a hint of coffee that was not bitter balanced by the walnuts.

Macadamia and sunflower seeds:
This was had a lot of texture in it because there were sunflower seeds and macadamia pieces in it.

Flaxseeds:
This one was similar to the above, but flaxseeds are smaller than sunflower seeds.

Taiwan Beef noodles

I haven't tried these noodles, but I found the drawstring bags attractive.

There are two different colours for the two flavours:
beef and spare ribs.

A-Sha Dry Noodle Jah Jang Flavour

Got these delicious noodles from my friend and I absolutely loved it, the Jah Jang Flavour was slightly salty but it was not as spicy as I thought it would be so I can get this flavour again.
I loved the black bean taste.

Momoko Premium Teh Kuan Yin 1 Litre Bottle

A very big bottle of Iron Buddha flavoured tea!
The taste was ok nothing extraordinary about it.

HeySong Camellia Green Tea (Sugar Free)

A girly drink because it tasted flowery hence I did not like it because it had Camellia Extract as well as Oolong tea and Jasmine.

But since it was sugar free it didnt taste so bad.

EDO Pack Fries Cut Chips Seaweed Flavor

Weird name : Fries cut chips!! anyway these are crisps cut like french fries but much smaller.

The seaweed taste was faint and it was not too salty.

However some of the pieces still had skin attached to it and occaisionally there was some weird akaline taste which I cannot describe.

Chou Chin Bomy Asparagus Juice

Thought this drink was interesting so tried it.

It tasted different from what I expected because natrual asparagus is woody and creamy, but the contents of this drink was clear liquid.

Anyway, there was a faint taste of asparagus but there was some lemon taste as well which was a weird ingredient to put in, but probably to extend its shelf life.

They have other drinks in the range but their website that was working the other day is not working now!!

planet studio seaweed with cod exclusive from Taiwan

Although planet studio specialises in popcorn, they also have these delicious seaweed snacks.

They are thin pieces of seaweed adhered to a piece of wafer thin crackers that are cod flavoured.

They were so crispy, light and addictive and the pack is resealable if you cannot finish them.

The texture is so crispy that you wouldnt notice the cracker part and the the whole piece is almost as thin as wafer.

planet studio popcorn exclusive from Taiwan

Usually popcorn comes is irregular shapes but the popcorn from planet studio are like spheres and are just like mini planets. Hence the name planet studio!

The last time I came across Taiwanese popcorn was from Chansii but I never got round to trying it so I was really lucky this time to get some popcorn from planet studio.

The packs of popcorn were HUGE, enough for four people to share.

I was so amazed they have 14 flavours and each one has a creative name which is hard to translate into English.

The 14 flavours are:

Original diamond, Caramel, Hazelnut and caramel, Chocolate, Cheese, Chowder, Seaweed, Wasabi, Kimchi, Coffee, Spring onion and chicken, Honey, Coconut and milk, and Sweet corn soup!!

I think the most interesting flavours are the Spring onion and chicken, Coconut and milk and the sweetcorn soup and the seaweed flavour would be a popular choice for Asians.

Anyway, I tried the Original and the Caramel.

The popcorn comes in huge resealable packs, tubs or snack packs great to share at the cinema.

Original:

The colour was lighter than the caramel one but the taste was really nice and buttery.

It is made with mediterranean sea salt to bring out the full flavour.

Each popcorn was nice and spherical.

Caramel:

This was much sweeter than the original but not that buttery, but very moreish after you have started eating it!!

Uni president Dong Gwai flavoured instant noodles 當歸藥膳風味細麵

This time I was looking forward to the DongGwai series, however I could not find the DongGwai with duck so I only got the plain DongGwai noodles.

Again it was as nice as the previous noodles but the ginseng one had a stronger taste.

For this flavour the DongGwai taste was faint.

There was sesame oil as well but I did not use it because it tastes really strong.
