Fresh almonds / Green almonds

Fresh almonds (Green almonds) are in season, so as a curious foodie I had to try them.
I found some bright green small ones and some dark green big ones so why not try both.
They were very different in taste.
Iranians eat them by adding salt and lemon to it.
Since it was my first time I tried them on their own.
I liked the fruit part of the light green smaller ones as they were sour and moreish but the stone part was a bit hard and bitter.
The bigger ones were tasteless but the almond part tasted like cucumber and almond and it was quite refreshing.
So I get the impression you eat the inside for the bigger one and the outside for the smaller ones.
Anyway, I will be salting the smaller ones because the salt and sourness would taste nice together.

[Review] Alpro almond milk

Alpro is a non dairy brand that has been around for ages.

They have oat, almond and hazelnut milk and Cashew.

For people who want a milk that does not have a nutty taste, I would definitely recommend Alpro Cashew milk because it does taste creamy as claimed and it tastes just like whole meal which brought me memories of drinking milk during break at school.

There is a slight sweetness to it but not that noticeable if you gulp it down.

After trying the cashew milk, I can understand why cashew is used to make cheese because it is just like milk.

As well as cashew milk, the other non dairy nut milks that I like are hazelnut and almond purely because of the nutty aroma they have which goes nicely when you add it to tea, coffee or whatever you are making.

Kowloon dairy Mochi Ice Almond Flavour

This is the new Almond flavour from Kowloon dairy, it is almond flavoured icecream wrapped inside a thin mochi.

In the past I have tried Taro which was my favourite.

The almond one is quite nice and not too sweet.
It tastes like the almond milk drinks but in icecream form wrapped in chewy mochi dusted in flour.

You-ka Maccha Tiramisu Chocolate

These maccha covered almonds reminded of Meiji's and Lottes' chocolate covered almonds.

They come in a resealable bag, all individually wrapped.

There are about 10 inside.

When you unwrap them, it looks like it has been dusted with green tea powder.

It tastes like pistachio initially and then the taste is very buttery and creamy.

Meiji ALMOND

Chocolate covered almonds which are quite addictive.

LOTTE ALMOND CRISPY (RICH NUT)

Another addictive chocolate from my friend, they are chocolate covered almonds, the chocolate on the outside has crispy bits and pieces of crushed nuts giving it an even more nutty texture.

Nestle Almond Oats & More cornflakes

These cornflakes are sweet so when they soak up the milk the milk becomes sweet as well.
It takes a while to soften because the thickness of these cornflakes are thick.

Overall, I quite liked them and they taste like bran flakes.

EDO Almond Pastry

I do not buy EDO products but someone bought it so I tried it.
As with all EDO products they are dry and greasy.
